BYRNE WINS PEOPLE'S CHOICE AT NEW YORK STATE FAIR

Michael Byrne's painting bested 65 other works of art at the annual New York State Fair to take top honors with his painting "Barn Dance". With his win, Michael was awarded the title of New York State Fair Wildlife painter of the year. Along with best in show, "Barn Dance" was also awarded the People's Choice. The wildlife art exhibit is considered to be one of the three jewels and a must see at the fair. Total attendance for 2006 was estimated at close to 1 million visitors. As a resident of New York State for the past 14 years, Byrne explains he his thrilled to represent New York fine arts and all it has to offer in the area of Wildlife art and conservation.

MICHAEL BYRNE CHOSEN AS NEW YORK DUCKS UNLIMITED SPONSOR ARTIST

Michael's painting "Woodies at Wertheim" has been copyrighted by New York Ducks Unlimited in a signed and numbered edition of 650. This is Michael’s second sponsor print he has done for New York Ducks Unlimited. Michael has been a strong supporter of DU. His artwork has been instrumental in generating thousands of dollars used for wetland restoration projects sponsored by Ducks Unlimited. The scene depicts wood ducks on the Carmans River at Long Island’s Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge. In the background is a father teaching his children the lessons of waterfowl conservation by tending to one of the many wood duck boxes within the refuge.

MICHAEL BYRNE DONATES PAINTING AT DUCKS UNLIMITED DINNER

Michael Byrne donated his painting "Hudson Heritage" which went up for auction at the annual charity dinner for the New York City chapter of Ducks Unlimited. The event was held at the New York Racquet and Tennis club on Park Avenue. The painting was sold to the highest bidder at $1,700.00. All of the proceeds from the sale of the painting will go to help support conservation efforts that develope habitat for waterfowl and other small aquatic animals and plants.

Michael's painting "Black Duck Bounty" is copyrighted by Ducks Unlimited in a signed and numbered edition of 650 and will be available only to those individuals and corporations who become Sponsors of Ducks Unlimited at events on Long Island during 2005/2006 at the minimum contribution level of $250.
